This policy covers the apps “Leben in Deutschland Test” (Android) and “Einbürgerungstest Offline” (iOS), bundle id me.rafaelribeiro.einbuergerungstest, and this website. The controller is Rafael Pereira Ribeiro, Kollwitzstraße 76, 10435 Berlin, Germany, rafael.pr10@gmail.com.
1. The apps
The apps collect no personal data. They have no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no server. They request no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
Your study progress (answers, days studied, finished mock exams, bookmarks, achievements and your chosen federal state) is stored on your device. It is never sent to me, you can reset it in the app’s settings, and it is deleted from your device when you uninstall the app.
If you have device backups turned on, your phone includes this progress in them: on Android in your Google backup (Auto Backup and transfer to a new phone), on iOS in your iCloud or computer backup. You control these backups in your device settings. They are handled by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies, and I never receive them.
The apps make no network requests of their own. The Android app asks Google Play whether a newer version is available and may show Google Play’s in-app review dialog. The iOS app may show Apple’s rating prompt. Google and Apple handle these under their own privacy policies; I receive no personal data from them.
2. This website
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. If you switch the language, it remembers that choice in your browser’s local storage. Your chosen theme and whether sound effects are on are also stored there. The web study app saves answers, study days, mock exams, bookmarks, your federal state and unfinished sessions in this browser only. This information is not sent to a server or shared between devices. Reset progress in Settings clears answers, study days and exams while keeping bookmarks and preferences. Clearing this site’s browser data deletes all saved progress and preferences. If you open an old link to the study app from this site’s previous address, your browser copies what it saved there to this address inside the link’s fragment, the part after #, which browsers never send to a server. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent saving. Opening the site requires an internet connection.
This storage is strictly necessary to provide the functions you ask for, such as keeping your language, theme, sound setting and study progress, and therefore needs no consent (§ 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TDDDG). Nothing in it is read by or sent to a server.
The website links to Buy Me a Coffee so you can support the project. This is a plain link: nothing is shared with Buy Me a Coffee unless you open it, and from then on its own privacy policy applies.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver it, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser’s user agent, on the basis of a legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as a processor under its data processing addendum. As a US company it may process data in the United States; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection. I do not access these request logs; Cloudflare retains them only as long as it needs them to operate and secure its network, as set out in its policy. Cloudflare also asks your browser to report failed connections (network error reporting), so your browser may send Cloudflare reports with technical data such as the page address, the type of error and your IP address. These reports are processed under the same processor relationship and legal basis. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
3. Store downloads
When you install an app, Apple or Google process data under their own privacy policies. I receive only aggregated, anonymous statistics from them.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Berlin the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit. Since the apps never send me any data about you, there is nothing from the apps for me to hand over or delete.
For the request data Cloudflare processes when you visit this website, you can contact me by email at rafael.pr10@gmail.com. I do not access those logs myself, but I will pass your request on to Cloudflare.
5. Not an official app
The apps are independent study aids, not affiliated with the Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF) or any government body.
